Where We Operate

Our road transfer network covers the regions most frequently used by our charter clients:

Gauteng — Transfers between Lanseria International Airport, OR Tambo International Airport, Grand Central Airport, and Wonderboom Airport. Pickups and drop-offs anywhere in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Sandton, Midrand, and the broader Gauteng region. Inter-airport transfers for connecting flights.
Kruger & Lowveld — Transfers from KMIA (Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport), Skukuza Airport, Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport, and Phalaborwa Airport to lodges throughout Kruger National Park, Sabi Sands, Thornybush, Timbavati, and the surrounding reserves.
Cape Town — Transfers from Cape Town International Airport to the City Bowl, V&A Waterfront, Camps Bay, the Winelands (Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl), and Garden Route destinations.
North West Province — Transfers from Pilanesberg Airport to Sun City, Madikwe Game Reserve lodges, and surrounding areas.

Vehicles and Standards

Our transfer fleet consists of well-maintained, air-conditioned vehicles suited to the road conditions and passenger requirements of each route. For airport transfers in Gauteng and Cape Town, you travel in comfortable sedans or SUVs with ample luggage space. For lodge transfers on gravel roads in the Kruger area, we use appropriate 4x4 vehicles or arrange lodge-specific game vehicles where required.

All drivers are professionally licensed, experienced on their routes, and briefed on your itinerary. For international clients unfamiliar with South African roads, our drivers provide a safe, stress-free alternative to self-driving. There is no need to navigate unfamiliar highways, deal with toll roads, or worry about driving on the left-hand side.

Integrated with Your Charter

The real value of our road transfer service is its integration with your air travel. When you book a private charter, safari package, or flying safari through Angel Gabriel, we coordinate your ground transfers as part of the same booking. The driver knows your flight schedule, monitors for delays, and adjusts pickup times accordingly.

This means no waiting at airports for a transfer that has not arrived, no confusion about meeting points, and no coordination required on your part. Your driver is briefed on your aircraft tail number and arrival time. When you step off the aircraft, they are waiting.

For clients arriving on commercial flights at OR Tambo and connecting to a charter departure at Lanseria, the inter-airport transfer is a critical link. OR Tambo and Lanseria are approximately 45 minutes apart by road. We time the transfer to give you a comfortable buffer without wasting time, and our team monitors both your commercial arrival and charter departure to manage any schedule changes.

Lodge Transfers

Many safari lodges are located some distance from the nearest airstrip. A flight to Hoedspruit Eastgate, for example, may be followed by a 45-minute to one-hour road transfer to a lodge in the Timbavati or Thornybush reserves. Some Sabi Sands lodges are a 30 to 45 minute drive from the nearest airstrip.

These transfers are often arranged directly by the lodge, but not always. Where lodge transfers are not included in your accommodation booking, or where you are travelling independently rather than as part of a package, we arrange the ground connection. We work with lodges to confirm gate entry requirements, directions, and timing so there are no gaps in your journey.

Standalone Transfers

While our road transfer service is most commonly booked alongside charter flights, it is also available as a standalone service. If you need a reliable airport pickup at OR Tambo, a transfer between Johannesburg hotels, or a one-way drive to Sun City, we can arrange it independently of any air travel booking.
